Perspektywa

Którędy powędrujesz do kolejnego przystanku ścieżki? Prawdopodobnie wybierzesz wygodną drogę. Nawet jeśli pojawią się na niej jakieś przeszkody, sprawnie je ominiesz. Leżącą na ziemi gałąź można przekroczyć, gęste zarośla ominąć bokiem. Ale jeśli szukałbyś spokojnego schronienia, czy to czasem nie takie miejsca, która omijają inni, nie zainteresowałyby Cię najbardziej?

Kiedy wybuchła pandemia COVID-19, ludzie zaczęli masowo poszukiwać miejsc, w których mogliby spędzić czas w ciszy i spokoju. Im bardziej odludne miejsce, tym stawało się bardziej pożądane. Zmieniła się perspektywa.
W lesie jest podobnie!

Leżąca na ziemi kłoda dla Ciebie może być przeszkodą. Dla wielu gatunków jest jednak idealnym miejscem życia, ponieważ daje im dokładnie takie warunki, jakich potrzebują. Wiele owadów składa tam jaja, a wykluwające się z nich larwy korzystają w drewna zarówno jak w pokarmu jak i ze schronienia. Gęsta zarośla kolczastych krzewów to z kolei idealne miejsce do zakładania gniazd przez drobne ptaki. Takie warunki utrudniają dostęp drapieżnikom, które mogłyby zagrozić młodym. Patrząc na las warto pomyśleć o tym, że nasza perspektywa nie jest jedyną i to, co dla nas jest zbędne, dla innych może być wszystkim.

Perspective

Which way will you go to the next stop on the path? You will probably choose the easy way. Even if there are obstacles on the way, you will easily find a way around them. You can step over a branch lying on the ground or go around dense bushes. But if you were looking for a quiet place to hide, wouldn’t it be in these places that others avoid? Wouldn’t you be interested in them the most?
 

When the COVID-19 pandemic broke out, people massively started looking for places where they could spend some time in peace and quiet. The more secluded the place, the more desirable it became. Perspectives changed. It’s pretty much the same in the forest!
 

A log on the ground can be an obstacle for you. However, for many species it is an ideal place to live because it provides them with exactly the conditions they need. Many insects lay their eggs there, and the hatching larvae use the wood both as food and shelter. The dense thicket of thorny bushes is an ideal place for small birds to build their nests. These conditions make it difficult for predators to get to the young birds. When looking at the forest, it is worth remembering that our perspective is not the only one and what is useless to us can be everything to others.
